Theatre Arts as a performing arts company in this post Covid 19 era are wanting to help young people whose lives/careers/further education have been affected by Covid 19.
Theatre Arts Starburst Performers Project is a NEW and unique Theatre in Education project. We invite young people aged 18 – 25, to collaborate with us, to create and deliver interactive performances and workshops, with PSHE themes, for Primary Schools in Hampshire and West Sussex from April -September 2021 and April 2022 -September 2022.
We would rehearse with the student performers weekly one evening a week from January – September and take the Shows/Workshops into a school every couple of weeks for a day from April -September. There would be no fees for the student’s performers to participate in the group.
Student performers would receive travel and lunch allowance on show days.
The funds raised would cover the cost of getting the project off the ground.
- Rehearsal venue rent
- Show Costume and Props
- Show day costs to allow us to take the show to 10 Inner city Schools at no cost to the school
Our shows tackle mental health topics for example Health and Wellbeing, Relationships and the Wider world among other themes. We want to help children come to terms with many things they may have experienced and help them realise they have a voice. The Starburst Performers project will provide a supporting service for the protection of young children’s mental health and well being
Whilst Theatre & Live Performance is on hold for the foreseeable future. Starburst Performers Project will bring live professional theatre back into schools. We plan to produce Shows/Workshops to be performed outside on Playing fields and Playgrounds. This will ensure that all Company Performers, School Staff and Students can remain safe in the current post pandemic times we are in.
