Established in 2012 as a self funded non profit group to support children with health issues, Isolated because of a diagnosis of having ADHD,Autism,Down syndrome, these children are suffering from isolation and have extremely limited resources. In 2015 we extended our service's to support adults and elderly people with learning difficulties or disabilities, who were also suffering from the lack of resources and were becoming ill, we relocated to a larger building and created additional stimulating activities that they could access 3 times a week, this included arts and crafts, board games, Sensory, cooking classes, movies, table tennis and much more. We now support over 70 people a week and there are more waiting to access the service, aged from 5 to 95 years. it is our aim to refurbish our building to accommodate people in fixed wheelchairs, providing a overhead hoisting system and changing facility to allow them the dignity and comfort they need to access our sensory room and other services.
We have now been running for 9 years and would like to continue this great work the benefits many people, giving them a sense of confidence and a more fulfilling lifestyle that they deserve, after all they did not ask for these illnesses or disabilities they were simply born with them and no control over how they are, lets think of them and support them to achieve more goals in their life that we take for granted every day.
Case Study. Hannah joined our group aged 7 in 2012, suffering from isolation and social exclusion as she did not have the correct support in place, she progressed to a volunteer position within our club at the age of 14, supporting other children facing similar issues in their life. We are proud to announce she became our first employee in 2018 at the age of 16 years. She is doing amazing work supporting other children and adults to achieve their goals that they choose, we would like to support Hannah to rejoin our group and continue working for us after the pandemic.
We support many children and would like to aim for employing more of them in the future.
Any funding we receive would be greatly beneficial for creating additional activities and supporting more of our young kids into a more positive future.
