As a qualified Primary School Teacher with three children, I am passionate about ensuring that the younger generations know about, and gain an understanding of, how history has shaped the world we live in.
The centenary of the end of World War One is upon us and I believe it is important that the younger generations continue to learn about the First World War and how it affected their families, people living in their locality, and the world as a whole.
The workshops I offer are designed to give children the opportunity to learn skills used by the men and women who served during WW1. They will experience history up close and personal through handling and investigating both real and replica artefacts, develop team work and also communication and problem solving skills through immersive scenarios.
I will use the money raised to purchase artefacts, props and a uniform to enable me to engage the children from the very start of the workshops - as I enter their classroom in character, as I currently do with my WW2 workshops.
