The vision for my shop is quite simple. First and foremost in many areas of our lives we have neglected the 'creative side' of our personality. I believe that our children are now suffering with their mental health because of this disconnection. I have spoken to so many people who are firmly convinced that when life situations became so difficult, their craft pulled them through it. There is something about being creative that stills our mind, gives us time to reflect and process. I feel this is vital for us as we go through our lives. My shop supports and promotes local crafters with specific skills. Bringing local craft back onto the High Street for everyone to enjoy. Steering away from mass produced products, often brought in from overseas. We are aware of the environmental costs involved in living like this. I am also aware that much of our craft heritage is being lost and we need to teach these skills to the next generation before we lose them completely.
The money raised will secure our vision. It will push us foreward with our teaching programmes. It will fund our place on the High Street. It will enable a wider range of craft skills to be accessed. It will secure our crafting heritage for future generations. It will also support our local economy and the charities we support.
