Our plan is to make the playground brilliant for all ages and abilities.
We want to provide:
- resurfacing the tarmac
- better football pitch
- new picnic area
- more equipment
- new landscaping
This will require a significant amount of money, but with your help we are up for the challenge!
A Little can get us a Lot ... a Lot can get us More
We are looking to raise money to use as a pot to help us apply for and help us secure larger grants (match funding). In order to secure funding groups typically need to provide 10-20% of the costs. For example, if the new equipment costs £150,000 we will require a pot of £15,000-30,000. The more we can raise the bigger the funding pots we can apply for.
We Are Making Your Community Playground Better
Since 2017 we have been improving the playground with the help of our community and Sheffield City Council.
The changes we have made so far have come from raising money from within our community and using this money as match funding towards grants. This has allowed us to spend over £60,000 on new equipment and landscaping. We have received funding from the Ward Pot, Sheffield Town Trust, JG Graves Charitable Trust, Co-op Local Community Fund, South Yorkshire Community Foundation and the Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government.
Money from the community and these grants have helped us deliver:
- new climbing frame
- spinning dish
- balance board
- spinning climber
- planting areas
- basket swing
- replacement swings
- willow tunnel
- removing of unnecessary fencing
- new gate
- new climbing frame for older children (on it's way!)
