To put on a community theatre production of ' Wonderland -the Musical' in the 10 Acre Wood Cornwall. Associated workshops and rehearsals

by Helen Whitthread Time to Shine Club CIC in Wadebridge

'Wonderland' is a community theatre project taking place in September 2017 ancient woodland just outside Wadebridge.  We are reaching out to all people in North Cornwall to get involved in any way they can.

We aim to get all ages together and provide family orientated workshops that give people a chance to learn new skills including music, dance and art . MUCH beauty and inspiration will be lent to the performance by the magical forest, and we will put on a production which will showcase all that people have learnt, in a promenade theatre production.   Everyone will be invited to audition for main parts and join in the singing, dancing and acting, and set dressing.

We have a great score and a wonderful ensemble of musicians ready to go and we shall workshop and rehearse music, art and dance to involve children from Wadebridge, Camelford, Delabole and surrounding areas.

We have funding from Ernest Cook for these workshops and rehearsals but really need funding so that people will get a chance to showcase all the skills they have learned in one glorious performance on 1st and 2nd September 2017.  We have a set designer, sound and lighting engineer, props and Jabberwocky designer, and a Wonderland band of acccomplished musicians and vocalists ready to go.  The logistical planning has been done, we have a child safety policy and we are fully insured.

The music is new and original, provide an uptempo backdrop to a promenade perfomance through the enchanted woods, past all the visual dramatic delights, taking in waltzes, tango and rhumba and tipping it

We really need more funding to turn the Woodland into a magical set and pay artists like Laura Martin for essentials like the winged Jabberwocky, a puppet on stilts, and trapeze artists like Airfish Aerial so we can have a Cheshire Cat suspended from a tree.  We would like to buy or hire a bell tent for the kitchen area and make our simple bridge wheelchair friendly. Without additional funding it will be a very basic affair.
