The story so far
Since launching last year, Women On Tap has exploded. Funded entirely from our 'rainy day' jar for the first year and run on a shoestring in our spare time, the way Women On Tap has started to reach and have a positive impact on women and the beer industry is beyond all our expectations. The potential we now have to push forward and make a real difference is incredibly exciting.
We mean business and we want to be taken seriously. We are ready to step this all up a level – but we are going to need your help.
Here's what we'd like to do now.
A BIGGER BEER FESTIVAL: Starting with the 2018 beer festival, we want to make the Women on Tap brand bigger and we want to amplify our voice for showcasing and celebrating women in the beer industry with maximum impact. We want this year's festival to be a 5 day party across 5 superb carefully chosen venues over two Yorkshire towns with 7 different events - all designed to educate, inspire, and spark important conversations.
YEAR-ROUND EVENTS: Looking beyond the festival, we'd love to run exhilarating pop up events across the year that fuse women in beer with women in arts. These would take place in exceptional venues and unique spaces across the North.
MORE COLLABORATIONS: We want to collaborate ambitiously across the beer industry and align the Women On Tap name and ethos with some key industry events and brands.
Our ambitions for the future include...
INVESTMENTS: We want to generate surplus funds so we can invest in and help make other people's important equality initiatives happen.
REPRESENTATION: We've been thinking about how incredible it would be to commission a professional short film showcasing women working in and drinking beer across the north, and execute a campaign for extensive screening and reach.
We'd also love to look at developing a digital library/ app of women in beer across the UK and beyond.
A NATIONAL CONFERENCE: We've also been getting really excited about the potential of funding and helping shape up and deliver a major national Women in Beer conference for 2019.
NEXT YEAR: We already have big plans for Women On Tap beer festival 2019 and who knows where else this take us…
Ultimately, we want to support, showcase and empower women in brewing and female-led innovation and expertise. We want to attract more women to drink beer. We want more women to educate on beer. We’d love to see more women in senior roles across the beer industry. We want more women to choose a career in beer. Finally, we want to support outstanding independent pubs, and we want to help further establish Yorkshire and the North as a deserving beer destination.
The people behind the vision.
We are passionate about beer and we are committed to Women On Tap and all it stands for. We are a currently team of just 3 with extensive beer industry experience and senior marketing, communications and digital backgrounds. We are adept at building digital platforms; devising and delivering new events and initiatives; developing brands with impact; executing communications that are bang on message; and flying the flag for projects, causes and initiatives we believe in though wide reaching marketing activity.
This is not just about women in beer.
This is not just about creating a representative voice.
This is not just for Harrogate, Yorkshire and the North.
This is for everyone who shares what we stand for.
This is for real impact and change.
This is for you.
This is a really exciting time. We'd love you to join the celebration that is Women On Tap and help us make it the best it can possibly be. The more investment we can get, the more we can do. We won’t let you down.
