We aim to significantly increase the population of various wildlife species within the urban environment but creating habitat.

New stretch target

We would buy extra plants, seeds and signage. The more resources we have the more we can achieve.

We are a collaboration of the City Council, Truro in Bloom, Residents' and Friends' groups. We have some excellent Green open spaces. These can be improved for wildlife by increasing sustainable, wildlife friendly planting and opportunities for shelter. We want to involve the whole community in this endeavor and regognise the time in nature is beneficial physically and emotionally.  Urban green spaces serve many purposes in addition to biodiversity - they mitigate heat Island effect, absorb air pollution, help with water management and sequester carbon. They are also of economic benefit, encouraging visitors to the city.

We will involve the community, including school children, in planting, habitat creation, monitoring e.g. Bug hunts, bird, bug and bat box siting.

We will improve signage for educational purposes.
