We Wanted To Let You Know What The Next Steps Are
As we approach the final 24 hours of the online share offer, we first wanted to say a huge thank you for your investment in the community shop. It feels like we are all part of a very special chapter for Wigginton and our neighbouring villages.
As we send this update, more than 172 investors have raised an incredible £81,000 on Crowdfunder plus £3,000 in offline investments. Let's see what the final total is at 22.41 tomorrow!
As we understand, this will be the last opportunity to contact you on Crowdfunder, before we are given the members' database by them, we wanted to let you know what the next steps are.
All the money you have invested is being held by Stripe (a trusted online payment processing organisation). We have chosen not to draw down the funds from them until the first week in April, as we cannot progress until then for the following reasons:
- The planning application is submitted and in progress with Dacorum - we expect their decision by 2nd April.
- The lease agreement with the Parish Council (for a very small part of the sports field land) is well underway and we are aiming to finalise this by the first week in April.
- We expect to hear from LEADER mid March (a European funding organisation) about our grant application.
Once these key steps of the project are in place, we will be in a position to order the building from Passmores' and appoint builders. We are taking a considered and responsible approach to each phase of this project, consulting with experts all along the way. We will be in touch soon with an update on this next phase.
Thank you for all your support.
