Why Not Us?

A new multidisciplinary play on gender equality created by men and women.

We did it!

On 19th Jul 2016 we successfully raised £1,785 with 48 supporters in 28 days

'Why Not Us?', is  a multidisciplinary piece of theatre that examines gender inequality equally from the perspective of both men and women.

Our play has been accepted into Ugly Duck's creative season (southwark) and is due to be performed on 29th-31st July. We now need your help to make this a reality.

We are a collective of young, London based artists from across the industry, including writers, dancers, directors, visual artists and film makers, that wanted  to work together to create a play that explored gender inequality in a fresh way.

After 9 months of research, we created a play, 'Why Not Us?', that explores some of the issues we felt were most relevant to young men and women today. Set in London, the play examines, relationships, work politics, the film industry, the media, and the music industry.

We also model healthy partnerships between men and women throughout our creative practice. We have a male and female co-writer, male and female composers, male and female visual artists and a 50:50 male and female cast.

We hope  to inspire men and women across London and to showcase the work of our talented young artists.

We now need your help to put our play on the stage.  Your money will go towards, sound, lighting, set design, installing the visuals, producing the sound tracks and, ultimately rehearsing the piece and paying our artists  to get it ready for performance!
