Hi I was diagnosed with Friedrich's Ataxia at age 21. It's a degenerative muscle wasting neurological condition. Since then I have lived by the seat of my pants! At age 35 I went into a wheelchair permanently. I thought it was the end of my life however it gave me a whole new life! I went to college and started with an English qualification and got a place on a Bachelors degree in Cultural studies which I loved. I am now 45 and I have just graduated from a Masters degree in The Beatles and I want to continue to a PhD. I am having difficulty self propelling my manual wheelchair and need this powered wheelchair to enable me to keep some independence, I still want to do many more things!
