Who are we?
Like many towns Whaley Bridge once had its own brewery, lost decades ago, until Mike and Jill established Whaley Bridge Brewery in 2011. Self taught, Mike has lovingly developed small batch multi-dimensional beers in the High Peak, Derbyshire, combining modern ideas with traditional brewing methods and techniques.
Whaley Bridge Brewery started on a very small scale, growing to be one of the most well loved breweries in the High Peak, producing a range of craft beers made with the wonderful water of the area, and proud to be made in Derbyshire - we take our inspiration and beer names from the beautiful High Peak.
What do we do?
We offer diverse and involved recipes with the core aim to produce forward thinking flavourful beers without compromising on their drinkability, we offer these in cask, key keg and bottle. All our products reflect the local character of the area and celebrate the cultural heritage and beautiful environment of the High Peak. We currently brew a core range of beers including:
Stoneheads - Cascade hopped West Coast Pale, 4.8%abv
Crow Hill - California hopped American Amber 4.4%abv
Mount Famine - Triple hopped IPA 4.8%abv
Dolly Pit - Styrian hopped DPA 4.0%abv
Hockerley Hole - Four blended hops, fruity with hint of liquorice 4.0%abv
Roots Wharf - Amarillo, Citra and Cascade hops 4.4%abv
Why are we raising funds through Crowdfunder?
We sell in pubs around the local area, and to bottle shops and off-licences but unfortunately all the pubs in the centre of Whaley are tied, so locals and visitors can't sit in and enjoy a pint and a chat. We'd like to change that.
We need your support to enable us to provide a unique community offering, a brewery Tap House in the form of a micropub to enable us to continue to grow and share our passion for high quality craft beer with as many people as possible. We have a beautiful property and planing permission approved and now we need funds to transform it into a cool micro pub fit for the beer.
What will we do with the money we raise?
We've set an initial target of £5,500 to enable us to develop the Tap House. The building we have secured is a fantastic example of a Victorian shop and is in the Conservation Area of Whaley Bridge. The exterior of the building doesn’t need much work, but the interior is just a shell and needs a re-fit to enable people both locally and from afar to come to the Brewery Taproom and enjoy our craft beers (and maybe a little wine and gin!) in comfort.
We're a successful established brewery so the you've the knowledge that the rewards you'll get by supporting us will be of the highest quality - please join our campaign!
