On 12 of October 2020 a group of friends take to the west highland way and aim to complete it in 5 days.

We are raising money for William Harper’s fight.

Chris McAlindon, Andy Jones, Mark Allan, Steven hill, Niall Francis, Steven Hutchison and Adam hirons will be doing the walking, supported by Samantha Harper and Colin Jobling with bags/meals etc.

We will all be walking the last day from kinlochleven to fort William.

It’s all for our brave wee pal William harper or another child like him whom may need to travel abroad for treatment for a rare condition.

Every penny donated will go to the charity. Every walker is self funding accommodation, food, beer and sheer enthusiasm.

William is 8 years old and to date has undergone 43 surgical procedures. He was born on Mother’s Day of 2012. Mum was assured everything was ok with baby, right up until the birth.

He has a condition called VACTERL and had his first open heart surgery at just 16 hours old. Since then he has undergone various surgeries, trachea, stomach, spinal cord, arm, renal system, bowel the list goes on.

For this particular fundraiser we are raising money for pioneering limb lengthening surgery. The price quoted is a massive £96,000.

William has previously been to the states for limb surgery and mum raised £79,000 for that procedure. Both have been declined by the NHS. As it stands we plan to take William to Dr Dror Paley or the Paley institute, west palm beach, Florida. This man is a god of the orthopedic world and saves children all over the world from having limbs amputated.

if at any point William decides he doesn’t not want to go through with it or by some miracle the NHS offer to fund it, all donations will go to a child with a similar story. A child that needs treatment that the NHS will not provide. Having seen this world first hand, there are so many children out there like William!

thank you for reading, thank you for donating, your support means the world to us.

The lads have trained so very hard for this walk and it will be an physical and emotional battle from the day they start as I’m sure you can well imagine!

Once more thank you so much.
