Welsh Luxury Hamper Company

Unfortunately this project was not successful.

I have always struggled with dyslexia and I am determined to encourage other young women into the world of business.

I launched Welsh Luxury Hamper Company on October 1st 2019. It has always been my dream to own a successful Welsh company that supports other businesses. I wanted the business to reflect the things that I love in my life. The products are carefully selected and represent the beautiful country where I have grown up. I have been nominated as one of the best Christmas Gifts of 2019- Welsh Coastal Life Magazine.

Welsh Luxury Hamper Co. provides luxury hampers with products sourced from all around Wales, inspired by Wales’ beautiful landscape and heritage. Each hamper is filled with keepsake items and produce presented in a handcrafted box, nestled in a bed of Pine or Oak Wood Wool. All of my products are available on my website: WWW.WELSHLUXURYHAMPERCOMPANY.CO.UK. Since launching the business I have sold in America and across Europe.

The journey first started out in Chepstow Comp where I studied 4 A-Level subjects: Music, Geography, Sociology and French (nothing business related) I think I obtained grade d’s and e’s in these subjects. I always struggled academically but never really had a reason why. I then managed to scrape a place at Bath Spa University studying the theoretical element of music. I excelled at the performance element of it but never the academic side.  Having studied there for 4 months I ended up dropping out in December having been diagnosed with severe dyslexia in both reading and writing. I was bullied into dropping out by a number of tutors due to the way I was treated.  Come January after all the Christmas buzz I hit a bit of a low point with my mental health as all of a sudden I didn’t know what I was doing with my life. My mum who has a bit of a background in business and interior design advised it might be an idea to join onto a course at college and try a few courses out. I joined onto a business level 3 extended diploma course running through the basics of business and how to effectively run one. I ended up obtaining 4 distinction stars at the end of the course which is practically unheard of in my eyes. I was then given some advice on who to help with the setting up of my venture. This amazing support has resulted in me launching my venture in October.

I was once told by a teacher at school this quote ‘Good grades are a stepping stones towards getting into a good college, getting a good job and eventually living a good life. Shun those complacent C’s, avoid those boring B’s and strive every single day, to get those awesome A’s.’ The grades I received aren’t even on this list… does that mean I haven’t got a good job or a good life?

I am using this process to prove to people whom suffer with dyslexia and encouraging young women into the world of business that dreams can be made reality if you just keep at it.

I would really appreciate if you could help me along my journey into making my business succeed. I have had to take out a number of loans to help start the business up and all my profits are being used to invest into more stock. It would be such a huge weight off my shoulder to pay these loans off and start using my sales to grow the business. During my four horrific months at university I also had to take out a student loan and it would mean so much to me to pay these off and start using my platform to encourage other individuals in my position.
