the lowdown is a voluntary mental health organisation providing free and confidential counselling, emotional wellbeing, sexual health and LGBTQ support services for 11-25 year olds. We believe there is no need for young people to experience difficult situations alone.
the lowdown offers a caring environment where young people are supported on their journey towards positive emotional health and wellbeing.
We are proud recipients of The Queens Award for Voluntary Service. We’re also members of the REACH partnership of five agencies providing professional and confidential youth counselling for young people across Northamptonshire.
Our five core services are:
- Emotional Wellbeing
- Sexual Health
- LGBTQ Support
Our wellbeing service is the newest that we are offering and it is this service we are seeking money to improve.
We would like to offer wellbeing workshops to compliment our wellbeing drop in service which we run three times a week for young people and their families.
These workshops will focus on building young people's resillience and improving their mental wellbeing. We plan to do this by looking into the main topics which young people come to us with, such as anxiety, low mood, bereavement, stress and relationship troubles, and building specific workshops around this with a variety of different coping techniques that young people will then be able to take away with them.
