Our community in Lees, and surrounding areas is devastated by the recent news regarding the killing of 'Eddie', a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, by two savage roaming dogs.
Little Eddie was only nine years old and had such a wonderful happy life with his parents Joanne and Allan Parkin.
He did nothing wrong.
He was being walked back into his driveway after having his usual morning walk with his mummy, just a few feet away from his doorway and safety, when a pack of two vicious Bullmastiff-type dogs appeared from nowhere, stormed into the driveway and bit into Eddie.
It is now known that these dogs have injured other dogs and cats and even attacked humans.
What happened to Eddie could have happened to any one of us who have pets.
And we're deeply saddened that in our tranquil community such a horrendous incident has happened to our friend and neighbour.
It is for this reason that we want to raise funds to commemorate our dogfriend Eddie.
We don't want something bold and brash, for that was not Eddie, just something understated--but memorable and gleeful.
Maybe a bench in Leesbrook, or a tree can be planted.
The decision of how best to remember their special boy will be left in the hands of Eddie's mum and dad.
We love you Eddie x
