For my final module of my Masters Degree I am creating a performance that will hopefully appeal to a wide audience.

Hello, my name is Ruth and I am studying a Masters Degree in Collaborative Theatre Making at Coventry University, in association with Frantic Assembly Theatre Company. I have been studying part time since January 2017 and will complete in January 2019. I am also a full time youth worker and mother to a 7 year old.

For my final dissertation module, I am exploring the theme of Inner Worlds/Monologues and what universal themes exist within the inner worlds of people. This will be shown in a live, one woman performance.

This first version of the show will be performed on Wednesday 12th December 2018 in Coventry, at the Ellen Terry Theatre. This will be part of the ConTeMplate Festival:

The piece is in it's initial research stage, working title 'We Don't Say It Outloud'; our next stage is to gather the team of collaborators, and to create the performance.

The Collaborators

Ruth - I will be creating and directing this piece. Having 10 years experience in directing and devising performance work in several education and community settings; including a piece of theatre performed as part of my MA at the Lyric, Hammersmith.

Charlotte -  Will be the lone perfomer in the piece. Charlotte is a youth theatre director for under 11s with the Rose Theatre in Kingston and Dramatica Theatre Company as well as a Sessional Uni Lecturer.
She also writes short pieces for theatre, blogs and is starting to write her own book.

Jessi - Jessi will be producing the piece. Jessi is a lecturer at Leicester College, teaching on several courses. She is also a director and producer for PQA Rugby, having recently worked on the original musical 'A Ticket to Wonderland', and currently contributing to the West End show 'Trouble's A Brewin''.

Paul - Paul will be offering his technical knowledge to the piece. Paul is a computer programmer with a passion for using technology to tell story.

Jake - Jake is currently establishing himself as a freelance stylist and costume designer. He takes a great interest in gender diversity and equalities for the empowerment of feminist theatre.

Zoe - Zoe will hold the role of 'outside eyes', using her many years of professional experience to support the project. Zoe is a Hull-based actress, puppeteer, clown and street-theatre artist. She trained in Drama at the University of Hull and has over ten years professional theatre experience.

Why the Crowd Funder?
These wonderful collaborators have offered their time and commitment to this project for free, in order to support the vision I have for this dissertation. (I am also lucky enough to have been gifted the rehearsal space, performance space and technical support in kind from Coventry University)

At the moment we are limited by the number of times we as a group of collaborators can get together to rehearse and create the show. As we are all spread around the country we are asking you to help us gather in Coventry and provide us with some extra financial resources to support the costume design and set development of the piece.

Travel for all collaborators to travel to Coventry x 4 - £198.50

Costume Design Budget - £80

Set - £100

20% emergency money - £60

Crowd fund Goal - £438.50

Should we raise beyond this target we will be able to meet more regularly and offer more money for set and costume design.
