Forgotten Roots is a documentary which widens the conversation around minimal waste lifestyles in opposition to today's throwaway culture.

by Imogen Lang in Falmouth, England, United Kingdom

The production crew are third year film students at Falmouth University, who are currently producing our 10 minute expository documentary, Forgotten Roots.

Forgotten Roots aims to widen the conversation around minimal waste lifestyles in opposition to today's throwaway culture. Forgotten Roots also discusses the practicality our generation faces of being environmentally friendly by consuming less. We explore the emotional connection to the products we buy and how this affects the world we live in, but most importantly not forgetting our primary roots, the environment. Through the use of interviewees and stock footage, the film would serve as a platform for individuals who supply or live a minimal waste lifestyle to discuss the importance of their choices in their local area and also get an insight into how we can collectively move forward together to reduce our waste and our carbon emissions and reconnect with the products that we purchase.

The money we raise will be used on the logistics of the film production, stock footage licensing, catering for cast and crew, festival entry fees and any budget left over will be donated to Cornish Plastic Pollution Coalition. Below is a breakdown of where the budget will go and the estimated amounts catered to each section of production.
