Fundraising for Waste2taste #ox4freefoodcrew

Waste2taste is a social enterprise created and organised by two amazing women, Marie and Sandra. Waste2taste uses surplus food donated by the amazing Foodbank, farms and various other lovely people and their contributions. With these they create amazing dishes- food with a conscience. Their cafe is ran from Ark-T community centre in Cowley, where all manor of amazing things happen, and amazing people meet  to share, inspire and create. A safe space where you will be heard, valued and supported if needed, no matter who you are or where you’ve been. Anyone struggling to find their next meal will be fed and met with a friendly face and a warm embrace. Once buzzing with people from our community, it has been repurposed during the pandemic since closing to the public - Being community focused, together they have been working hard, cooking  over 2,000 meals from the Waste2Taste kitchen during our global pandemic, on a mission to support and nourish people and families in need and most vulnerable. Their journey of repurposing the sustainable cafe space has been incredible. The cafe remains closed in order to carry on creating all the amazing meals for those in need. Their work is inspirational, and thanks to incredible donations and grants they have been able to work in partnership with ox4freefoodcrew to provide this support service, however grants aren’t easy or quick to access, and certainly don’t last long. Waste2taste needs all the support it can get to keep up the good work. So far they have been managing out of the goodness of their hearts, when funding has not covered the half of it, the meals and support work calls to those isolated or struggling have been above and beyond brilliant, and it is a testimony to the kindness and resourcefulness of Waste2Taste and the two women behind it all. The purpose of this page is to generate funds to help Waste2Taste carry on with their support work for the community. This pandemic has reminded us to act with kindness and empathy, and to pull together as communities to support those most in need.
