Wall In The Barn

We did it
On 14th April 2017 we successfully raised £1,234 with 50 supporters in 42 days

We are raising £1200 to buy and install professional gallery rails in The Craft Barn, Hadfield.

New stretch target

Thanks to our wonderful supporters, we're now able to go ahead and order the gallery rails and fittings, and pay for them to be professionally fitted.

Whilst we will obviously be doing a lot to promote our first gallery event via social media, we think it would also be worthwhile to produce some printed material to distribute to local retailers, arts and crafts outlets and at local events. We think that by stretching our original target from £1200 to £1500, this will enable us to design and produce effective advertising and marketing material.

We still have a few days left of the original Crowdfunder appeal to run, so we won't be closing it just yet - there's still time to donate and there are still 3 amazing rewards up for grabs.

The Craft Barn is a community, not-for-profit arts and crafts venue which provides opportunities for people to come and be creative regardless of age, experience or ability. Our local area is rich in talented painters, photographers and artisans both professional and amateur, however there are few permanent gallery spaces. The Craft Barn will be able to celebrate and promote this talent as well as nurture future emerging artists from local schools and colleges.

In order for us to do this, we need to extend our existing offering by creating a gallery space. We already have an ideal location for this space - upstairs in The Craft Barn! What we don't have is a professional gallery rail. This facility will enable us to effectively display numerous works, including framed pieces, photographs and prints and other items. We intend to stage a number of exhibitions throughout the year, beginning with Derbyshire Open Arts (May 2017), The Craft Barn's Summer Exhibition (July 2017) and an exhibition of a local sixth form college's artwork (November 2017).

There will also be opportunities for local artists and artisans to stage their own exhibitions in this space.
