In October 2017, My grandson Joshua arrived at 32 weeks, he lived for 21 hours in the care of the fantastic Hull NICU, at Hull Women and Childrens Hospital, they gave us so much support with our own bedroom, all living essentials, kitchen, food, tv, even down to bathing supplies and tissues. The funding for these special rooms comes from donations as their budget does not stretch that far. furniture, decorating, everything.
In our 1st year of fundraising, we collected £1,700. missing our target of £2,100. A £100 for every hour he lived.
The 2nd benefactor is Abbie's fund. https://www.abbiesfund.co.uk/They also set up their own fundraiser after losing Abbie 8 years ago. Providing bereaved parents a memory box with such thoughtful treasures.
Our 3rd benefactor is HITH https://www.heartintheirhand.com/these gifts are beautiful for parents to share a heart with their lost child, they even provide for twins. These hearts are sponsored all over the UK for bereaved parents and grandparents. Our gift of keyrings will be donated to Abbie's fund memory box removing the cost of these so more boxes can be purchased.
This is not a taboo subject if we speak up and raise awareness of this heartbreaking subject and support each other.
Our mission is to provide for all 3. on the top of a small plane, walking with Joshua and Abbie, and all the other babies that never left a footprint on this earth.
