We are a couple, Scott and Clare, living in rural Northumberland. In February 2018, a large branch fell from a tree in our garden as Clare was standing below it. It struck her fully on the head, changing everything in just a couple of seconds. The resulting Traumatic Brain Injury and Post Concussion Syndrome have utterly transformed all of our lives.
Clare bought a campervan just over a year ago, as flying anywhere for holidays or breaks was just not possible, and still isn't since her brain injury last February. It had become her lifeline, allowing her to feel somewhat normal, and to have a small haven she could take away whenever she felt strong enough. An ongoing project, it has been a very stabilising influence at a hugely trying time in her life. TBI's are very debilitating and utterly life changing, for all those whom they affect. Clare is strong and determined, but the loss of the van is going to be very deeply felt by us all. Please allow her the chance to keep rebuilding her life, and maybe one day find herself fully again.
