Firstly, thank you for taking the time to read this.
I am sure you all have witnessed the growing divisive political climate in our world, there is one group of people who are having to bear the brunt of it. Refugees. Coming from an immigrant family, it deeply troubles me how families like mine can be labelled as terrorists or discriminated against just because of whom they choose to worship. Many have lost loved ones and had houses reduced to rubble and lack basic facilities at a time when they are at their most vulnerable.
Due to the grave nature of the situation, I am going to volunteer for two weeks at a refugee camp in Greece via the Do Your Part Organisation from the 6th- 20th of June 2017 and I need YOUR HELP. It would mean the world to me if you could spare a few minutes of your time and help sponsor a part of my trip this summer. Any exceeding contributions will be donated to the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR).
I hope that our actions here are able to impact the way some people look at refugees and immigrants in general. Together, if our actions change the outlook of even one person regarding the biggest refugee crisis since WWII, we will be one step closer to a generation of compassionate and peaceful leadership.
