Vinarija Raj (Paradise Winery, East Serbia)

raised so far

We seek investment to allow the winery to be able to accept groups of up to 50 people, a new kitchen required, tasting room to be finished.

We are an existing Winery in East Serbia. We commenced from nothing in 2011. Mick is British, Beka is Serbian. So far we have 7 bottled wines in full production, & 3 bag 'n' box varieties. We are in the old wine village of Rajac which is slowly coming back to life. Many years ago wine production in our area was enormous & bulk wine was shipped all over Europe by train tanker. We are doing our best to produce wonderful, interesting wines, in a region that is ideal for grapes; valley of the River Timok.

We are at the forefront of the re-discovery of Black (Red) Tamjanika, a local Muscat variety that nearly died out.

As I write it is harvest & I have 25 local Serbs in our 11 hectares of vineyards so money is going into the local economy. Our full time team, at the winery, & sales, is 9 strong.

The money raised will allow us to finish off the winery building, so larger tourist groups can be accommodated,   & help with vineyard management while our sales recover from Covid shutdowns. It will soon be time to purchase new Hungarian Oak barrels. We are also looking to add another store room next to the winery, & in the future purchase a delivery truck, hopefully running on LPG.

Our area of 3 villages is in the process for potential UNESCO protection.

Please take the time to look at the website, & fb page; a picture paints a thousand words.....
