A volunteer peer to peer outreach service supporting former and serving military personnel and their families suffering with, and from the effects of, Post traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and associated mental health issues and personal and family problems. By running weekly free coffee drop ins all over Devon for veterans and their families they feel able to express their worries and troubles with those who 'share the same experience' and 'speak the same language'. This is often the only trip outside their homes that the veteran will make during the week, and the pressure on families is immense, so to be able to enjoy the company of other like minded people is invaluable. veterans Peer Support also offers life skills training courses, family days out and counselling all free of charge, as most of our members are on War Disablity pensions and money is tight. For some this is the only chance in a week to speak to other people. With waiting list for mental health treatment lengthening the need for our free services is huge, with your help we can support many more veterans and their families who have given so much in service of their country.
