Upwood Cricket Club has big ambitions, but small facilities. We are looking to convert the bottom field at the club into a junior ground.

New stretch target

If we suceed in our target we can also look to furnish the ground. As well as Sight-Screens, Boundary Rope and a Scoreboard we can look to more junior training equipment.

Upwood Cricket Club have played at our Huntingdon Road ground for nearly 100 years. The club is currently in a good position, we have 3 adult teams and a thriving junior and girls section. We also host several Hunts County representative matches each season.

However, our square is struggling to keep up with the demand of almost daily cricket matches.

We have space at the top of the ground to make a junior pitch, this is our aim.

A junior pitch will take the pressure off the main ground, helping us to prepare better senior wickets. The nursery ground will also help us create the cricketers of the future, giving them the time, facilities and space to learn and enjoy the game of cricket.

At UCC we have ambition, in time we hope to add an artificial wicket to the junior ground and are looking to build a pavilion that caters for all of our members as we continue to grow. The first step on that journey is the new junior pitch. We hope that you can help us realise our ambitions.
