In October 2019, I made my dream of 2013 finally come true. Back in 2013 I created the vision for I-PAL Flintshire. I-PAL stands for Information, People & Learning and it's aim is to help support & guide local businesses and empower those you are wanting to start up. In October last year I opened a high street hub in Flint, North Wales where we offer a rent a shelf service to approx. 20 local crafts people who can showcase their products in a retail environment without the overhead of a shop. With our kettle on & our sofa, I offer business advice, support & guidance in a comfortable environment where people can be inspired and brainstorm their way through goals and ambitions. What we have done since opening is registered our social enterprise organisation GML Professional CIC. Using the skills I've developed over 17 years in a corporate environment, I intend to apply these strengths to benefit larger businesses through consultancy services. The profits of GML Professional CIC will be invested back into I-PAL Flintshire to allow us to continue providing support and guidance to local crafts people & businesses. The aim of our project is generate enough funding to secure a bigger premises which will offer a networking centre, including rent a desk service to multiple local businesses who can grow and learn from each other in a mutual beneficial environment. Our vision for our local area of Flintshire is to increase economic growth, encourage business start ups and empower our community whilst putting life back into the high street.
