TTB&B supporting families in pregnancy and beyond.
Not quite
Unfortunately this project was not successful.

The aim of this project is to increase the accessibility of our services to families across Derwentside, Weardale and beyond.

Tiny Toes Bumps and Babies was born from 15+ years of Midwifery experience (I remain a registered Midwife) and a desire to to offer greater support to families through pregnancy and beyond.

Drawing on my own professional and personal experiences as well as ongoing training I have developed a range of classes and services to provide this support.

Tiny Toes Bumps and Babies offers:

* Antenatal classes in a range of styles focusing on individual need including a bespoke class for siblings.

* Baby Massage Classes including designated classes for dads (although they are welcome to all).

Be it antenatal or baby massage, for parents, caregivers or siblings these classes allow families time to socialise with others who are in a similar position to themselves working to break down the social isolation which can creep in with new parenthood.

Offering a relaxed environment means that people feel that they can ask those difficult questions or air their concerns to other parents in the group or indeed myself as facilitator with professional knowledge and expertise.

It is important to me that families are empowered to make the right choices for themselves with the information they are given. This is also reflected in my sibling antenatal classes where we work to prepare children for baby's arrival and give them a sense of ownership over becoming a big brother or sister.

Classes have a positive impact on the mental well-being of the parent which in turn creates a positive impact on the mental well being of the infant and indeed the wider family unit.

Baby massage creates a bond between the parent or carer. By releasing Oxytocin it is relaxing for both the parent and the baby as well as giving the knowledge and tools to 'cope' with situations which may arise with baby such as wind, colic, constipation, teething or restlessness.

I have turned to you for support in making these services much more accessible to families by maintaining a low cost for the family while still covering costs associated with classes, to spread availability further into the local community by offering a variety of venues/days and times. With your support I can achieve this by increasing promotion through the local media as well as maintaining a strong social media presence.

I would also like to be able to spread the amazing support offered to siblings by achieving CPD accreditation for the course I offer and in turn giving other health professionals the ability to offer this service to children further afield.

Please find below testimonials of the work I have done so far:
