Expansion of Mini and Junior Rugby

Car park extension to accommodate junior rugby expansion and sports festivals

We did it!

On 23rd Jun 2017 we successfully raised £3,107 of £1,200 target with 38 supporters in 34 days

New stretch target

The stretch target shall be used for adding to the car park extension and helping us match fund.

This project shall extend the limited car parking at the club by 58 spaces to accommodate the development of mini and junior rugby and sports festivals. The car park will overcome neighbour problems associated with busy match days and parking in residential streets.

The project shall benefit the community by:

  • Enhancing the social, cultural and economic value of the club to its communities and by acting as a responsible custodian of the club for future generations,
  • Promoting, encouraging and fostering the Game for the benefit of members and the wider community including the coaching of the sport at all levels,
  • Maintaining and developing the Ground at Stelfox Avenue as a venue for playing the game and conducting other activities of the Club, so as to provide the best possible facilities for Members and those visiting the Ground.

Our Strategic Plan

In our strategic plan we are targeting an increase in junior membership by 50%. We are planning an under 13s girls team. We wish to introduce a junior rugby festival at the club.

It will overcome neighbour problems associated with busy match days and parking in residential streets. The Club uses the car park at Timperley Library and due to its redevelopment, this will not be available, which will place greater strain on the surrounding residential streets.

The outcome of this work will increase the engagement of young people, increase their involvement in physical activity through providing enjoyable sessions.

The outcome will be to grow the Club through a player experience and commitment that maximises lasting relationships and retention and integrates a development pathway to the senior teams.

The first team pitch shall be used for mini rugby. The opportunity for players introduction to rugby by playing on the 1st team pitch is considered to be a distinctive feature of this club and will attract many people to join.

We also anticipate an increase in skills and confidence of participants; Increased community use of the facilities; more volunteer opportunities and Improved financial sustainability of the Club.
