One week to go til City of Lights!
This time next week, the lanterns will be congregating at the Moorfields carpark; barriers, road closures, signage and security will be setting up; our schools will be making final adjustments to their little lanterns and we'll all be trying to contain our excitment!
This week, we have lots of school workshops taking place with children making small lanterns inspired by our theme of Heroes of the WW1 period - so far we have searchlights, carrier pigeons, poppies, bi-planes...the creativity is endless!
And our lead artists are not idle either! The City of Lights workshop is full of the beginnings of the amazing large lantern structures - a Land Girl, Shackleton's Boat, Marie Curie, Charlie Chaplain and that's just a few.
With an expected audience of over 25,000 people we're really pleased that we have already reached 28% of our Crowdfunder target with a whole week to go til the event! Big thank you to our pledgers so far, we hope we'll get many more as our audience get inspired by the spectacle on the night.
We hope you'll all be coming along to the event, full route info can be found on www.cityoflights.org.uk and keep your eye on our Facebook page and @Trurocol on twitter for the latest updates.
