I am a chef of 12 years having the pleasure of being able to have worked in some amazing restaurants and hotels over the years.
3 years ago I fell pregnant with my first son and soon had to take time out of work. It was hard financially, as one day I never had enough money to buy my mum a gift for her birthday. So I decided to make her some homemade chocolate truffles and she loved them. I started making some more and giving them to friends, family and neighbours, I always got good feedback back. From that point I knew that I wanted to take it further.
I started to go to little events and created a social media accounts such as Instagram and Facebook getting many people asking question about where I am based and how they could buy my chocolate truffles. I knew from that point that I wanted to make this my reality not just a dream.
I soon had to return back to full time work, where I work as a head chef in a pub locally to me. I love to cook always have, but instead of wanting to cook dover soles and steak tartare, I now want to roll chocolate truffles that melt in your mouth, crunchy shells with a gooey, fruity, nutty and boozy filling - because everyone loves chocolates.
Having received my hygiene rating for the location where I make my truffles in house at home. In August 2019 which I received a rating of 5. I Know that I need to push myself to succeed.
With the help from crowd funder I will be able to buy some equipment and also help me look in to one day getting my own little shop or do a pop up shop.
