I have been working in Road haulage for 10+ years, and I’ve noticed that crime against road haulage is rife. Stealing fuel, slashing curtains etc.
there is absolutely no where safe to park anymore. Very few truck stops have manned security through the night, but they’ll still happily charge £20 for the night.
With the industry on its knees as it is, we need to be looking to make places like this more appealing and safe for drivers to stay.
so I propose a 24/7 manned security truck stop. 24/7 cafeteria serving hot & cold food & drinks, 24/7 shop serving most things you need out on the road including cigarettes at a normal supermarket price (not moto prices), decent showers and toilets, separate parking area for fridge trailers with the potential of an electric hook up.
okay, so we may end up being on the slightly more expensive side, but you pay for what you get.
