We are delighted to announce that Truce, a documentary directed and produced by Teilo Vellacott and myself, has been selected for the 2017 edition of the Havana Film Festival in December (8 December-17 December). It will be shown on Saturday 9 December.
The film, shot in July 2016, explores the lives of women FARC guerrillas as they negotiate peace with the Colombian government in Havana, Cuba. The documentary focuses on the role the women played in the negotiations, through the creation of a Gender sub-Commission, hailed as "historic" by Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, Executive Director of UN Women, who features in the film.
We are honoured that the film has been selected and we feel it is important that we are there to present the film. However, this film has been almost exclusively self-financed by Teilo and myself, so we are asking for support to help cover some of the cost of attending the festival (flights, accommodation etc).
As a thank you for your donations, we will make a short film about the festival and our experience there. We’re really excited our film will be shown in Havana, the city where we shot the documentary and whose scenes of every day life feature in our film.
If you believe in the importance of independent films such as ours, please consider supporting our crowdfunding campaign to attend the festival. We can offer some goodies in return too :)
The names of all the people who have donated to the crowdfunding campaign will be listed on a special page we create on Truce's website hosting the short film we make at the festival. If you do not want your name to be listed, just let us know.

We welcome ideas and all types of feedback.
Thanks for reading and for your support.
