Treelah is a brand new musical about the destruction of the environment. The central character 'Treelah' is a defenceless creature, half child, half tree with a beautiful singing voice that gives the listener courage, but everybody wants a piece of this amazing discovery from the forest and that's what makes the story so compelling. It will be performed at Tiverton TCAT, October 30-31 2015.
Three songs can be heard on our website: http://www.treelah.co.uk/Music.html. Our aim is to entertain families and young children, yet still get over an important environmental message.
If you love musical theatre, or care about the environment, or want to help a community theatre project happen in Tiverton then help us put this show on by giving a pledge. The pledge will reward individuals with tickets or allow businesses to advertise in the programme.
An exciting community theatre project, led by Patterns Theatre Company (a non-profit group), the show will be cast from in and around the Tiverton community and features predominantly young teenagers and adults, although there will also be small parts for younger children. The title character will be a puppet based on the winning design received from primary school children in the learning community. Auditions will be open to all members of the community, whether experienced performers or not, and will take a friendly, fun workshop format. We also aim to take workshops into local schools to encourage students who may not have performed before.
In order to achieve this, we need help with funds towards the cost of hiring local rehearsal spaces, including the Devon Youth Centre, bewteen July to October.
Many thanks for your support!
