Transgender Trend Schools Resources
Our nationally and internationally acclaimed Schools Resource Pack has attracted extensive positive feedback! Head Teachers tell us it is 'balanced,' 'sensible' and 'considers the needs of all pupils and balances everyone's rights'. Many classroom teachers and other in-schools professionals have expressed relief to have a resource which provides practical advice that is genuinely inclusive for all children in such a difficult area of education and development. Lawyers have contacted us to confirm the Transgender trend Resource Pack is the most compliant with Equality Law of all the transgender schools guides available, so teachers can be confident that they are meeting any school's equalities duties in using it.
This week an article in the TES has judged our resources the most compliant with technical guidelines of the the UK’s Equality and Human Rights Commission. Here's what transsexual teacher Debbie Hayton says about our schools pack in an article comparing all available transgender schools guides:
"The Transgender Trend guide started from a safeguarding perspective and considered the needs of all pupils in the school"
"In my view, it is the Transgender Trend guide that is most consistent with the Technical Guidance for Schools in England issued by the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) when it considered the needs of trans girls"
Our expert informed and research-led Schools Resource Pack has been downloaded over 11,000 times and we have distributed our original print run of 1,000 hard copies.
We now need to extend our vital research and publication activities to further promote national and international understanding of the best ways to support children and young people grappling with gender issues. Of immediate urgency, we would like to produce a second print run of our Schools Pack, along with printed copies of our new Safeguarding Concerns document and comprehensive Children's Rights Impact Assessment.
Funding is urgently needed for:
Production of more printed School Resource Packs plus new safeguarding and children’s rights resources
Printing of a young children’s picture book and primary school lesson plan (currently commissioned and in production)
Administrative costs, event management support and dissemination costs
Travel and conference fees
Postage and sundry expenses
Website costs and maintenance
Legal defence costs against libel
We receive no funding for our work except for donations from individual supporters. We want to take this chance to thank everyone who has donated funds via our website, we really do appreciate any amount, large or small. All financial contributions enable us to continue our essential research, projects and background work which we know is making a real difference.
Please support us to continue our vital work!
Any donation you can make is hugely appreciated.
We are proud of what we have achieved so far with your support. We are finding that when parents want to challenge transgender schools guidance, it is crucial to be able to offer schools and Educational Authorities our alternative resource which shows best practice with full Equality Act compliance.
Resources from Transgender Trend are making a difference. Please help us to extend our work and achieve so much more for the protection of children and young people learning about gender.
