I aim to create cheaper training for young people to get into engineering and help me make waves in the stuffy offices of this country.

by Colin Jarvis in Chelmsford, England, United Kingdom

Hi I'm Colin. I'm an electrical engineer with years and years of experience working in the power protection industry. That means places like Facebook and Apple and Google, in their data centres. They have thousands of these places you'd never know exist, and many thousands of people work in them. I myself have spent years working for multi-national companies in these date centres, on machines that make sure everyone's data and information is always on and never goes down.

Now I'm fed up of the closed door to small businesses who can do just as good a job at looking after these places, and I've started a business to try and rival the multi-nationals. I am now looking to fund young people who want to train and gain qualifications in electrical and electronic engineering to help me break into this industry with fresh faces. We can do it cheaper and therefore bring the cost down to the end user who is everyone on the planet.

I hope you will support me trying to get this business off the ground and to be able to support and employ young people from my area.
