To Sin By Silence offers a realistic reminder of the unorthodox activities of the police, politics and the entertainment world of the 1970s

by Thomas McKeown in Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom

My background as a professional graphic designer and fully-qualified tutor were skills which I added and applied to a passion I have always had for writing in 2010 when I began my project Screenstage Studios. With committed and highly talented associates I have presented theatre stage and digital screen productions with a human experience/social realism base to audiences, and to individuals and groups – along with the provision and delivery of courses, coaching, training and development in the creative and performing arts. To date since inception of my Screenstage project in 2010, together with colleagues, I have produced a substantial series of highly-acclaimed social realism dramas – totalling around 70 long and short-form live and digital film productions of original independent material written by myself, Thom McKeown. More on these at

To achieve this I have worked closely with established and emerging acting talent, providing considerable acting development to all cast members in an effort to create the best possible performance levels. The enormous social benefits of our training and development provision include the vast improvements in self-confidence, social interaction, communication skills, personal empowerment and emotional intelligence of participants which are there to be seen. The ensuing effects of these advancements manifestly increase said participants’ abilities not only in their respective personal lives but in the professional arena where these enhanced elements to their personality prove enormously beneficial to themselves and to society as a whole. My/Screenstage’s principles and philosophy in addressing for example human experience/social realism issues through the medium of live theatre drama, online activity, digital film and audio drama are highly appropriate vehicles to drive and engage with audiences. With my proiect Screenstage Studios there is a constantly evolving definition, as new strategies and objectives for using theatre, film, audio and online as educational tools emerge. This includes all the interactive theatre practices that help aid the educational process.

However, financially, I am finding it increasingly difficult to maintain the standards required with such productions and desperately need external investment support. With the help of empathetic backers through their generous financial contributions we can together complete this important film “To Sin By Silence” a voice for good in bringing to audience’s attention the issues within the production’s narrative. The issues will be more focussed through the powerful medium of filmed drama and will hopefully drive further commitment towards ensuring prevention of any repeat behaviours as shown in the film, in the future.

The completed film will be available to the general public and as a social educational tool through public screenings in selected cinemas, digital streaming and on dvd/blu-ray disc. I implore you please to contribute and be part of the Screenstage Studios family as we simply can't achieve this without generous financial help. Thank you so much.
