This is Me! Body Positivity Project

Help us to buy film and photographic equipment for our "This is Me!" Body Positivity Project.

We did it!

On 13th Aug 2018 we successfully raised £500 of £500 target with 36 supporters in 14 days

Social media, TV, advertising, marketing, the beauty industry and the diet industry all support one kind of body type and give out one kind of message "You are not good enough the way you are"

People's dissatisfaction with the way they look is having such a tremendous impact on their mental health, creating many issues such as eating disorders, self-harm and alcohol and drug abuse

We are passionate about creating positive change within our community, promoting an empowered body image culture and building the first Body Positive Community in Norwich. We aim to do this through our new project "This is Me!" which offers a revolutionary approach to self-acceptance.

"This is Me!" is a 4 week course that builds self-confidence, celebrates body diversity, increases self-esteem and empowers people in their relationship with themselves and their bodies. One of the key life-changing elements to this course is participating in a Body Positive photo shoot where we encourage people to express their most authentic selves. The photos provide lasting evidence of how far they have come. We also aim to document and film each individual's journey of self-acceptance which will be used to inspire others.

To do this we need:

  • Tripod
  • Microphone
  • Backdrop and backdrop stand
  • External Hard drive

By donating as much or as little as you can, you will be contributing to creating a movement that radically improves people's perspectives about their bodies, re-defines a more inclusive concept of beauty and celebrates body diversity.

Your donation will help people to increase their self-worth, enable them to live empowered and fulfilling lives and thrive.

We want a world where people don't gage their self-worth on how they look

A world where people's happiness doesn't depend on a number on the scale or a dress size.

We want a world where people are free to be who they are and celebrated for being them

We want a world where people feel confident and empowered in the skin they're in and can live their lives to the fullest.
