Small financial help so I can create a vibrant, quality Vegan Market for the local and small businesses that I host.

by Clare Adamson in Somersham, England, United Kingdom

Hello and thank you for taking some time to read my story!

I have always wanted to work for myself, do something creative and develop my personal skills - there was never the right time with the jobs I was working as a healthcare assistant in a busy hospital setting or as a support worker at a college.

One day I realised it was time. I left my job and nervously started doodling at home. Then one day I realised how my passions for vegan food/art/crafts and supporting small and local businesses could be intertwined.

Through the power of a Vegan Market!

And so The Village Vegan Markets was born in October. I now have my first market booked in at a small village called Cottenham just outside Cambridge in March next year.

The markets vision/statement...

''Cambridgeshire based, The Village Vegan has been made to host local businesses at a fair price and make vegan products accessible in the wider community.

The market is a place of inclusion, where everyone should feel safe.

Any business can attend however only vegan products are to be sold during the markets duration.'

As you can see I am opening this up to the whole community and I want to do my very best for them by making the market as attractive as possible.

I already design all my own artwork for the market, which I enjoy but I would like to create decorations and add some flare, make the market a little special. I would also love to get more of the community involved like paying for the local brass band but unfortunately I don't currently have the budget for that.

At some stage I would also like to purchase some waterproof coverings for those small businesses that can not provide their own.

The first market is on Saturday 28th March 2020 and with advertising, making my own decorations and paying for public liability as well as the venue hire I am already nearly going backwards in my funds.

Any kind of support would be greatly appreciated and remembered.
