Help The Surge get to the Edinburgh Fringe!

Help The Surge get to the Edinburgh Fringe! This piece of new writing asks: can we really make change? We would love your support!

We did it!

On 4th Jul 2016 we successfully raised £565 with 10 supporters in 56 days

Looking at recent events in British politics, this piece of new writing considers: can we really make change? Following the journey of recently elected MP Jessica Wiles who, coming from a background in grassroots activism, enters parliament for the first time and begins to question her ability to make change under this political system. Using physical theatre, spoken word and multimedia, The Surge examines the power of protest and whether individuals can make a difference.

“It's an inspirational & uplifting drama from The King’s Players - and a great reminder of what can be achieved when people get together to change their world for the better." (Lambeth Green Party).

After a sold out run at the Etcetera Theatre, Camden in December the play was chosen by Lambeth Green party to be performed at their launch event for their London Election campaign on 11th March 2016. Now we are heading to the Fringe - we are incredibly thankful for all the support we have had so far, and would love it if you could donate anything you can to help us get there!

In total we need to raise £5,000.

We have received £1,000 contribution from The King's Players society.

We hope to raise £1,000 from performances in London and Brighton before we go.

This leaves us with £3,000 to raise!

  • Venue hire - £2,350
  • Edinburgh Fringe registration fee - £295.20
  • Insurance - £120
  • Marketing - £150
  • Accommodation - £1,750
