Hi! My name is Craig and I have been a Real Ale/Craft enthuisiast for over 15 years.
With a passion for this industry ever increasing, and with several brewery tours, I eventually took the plunge into All Grain Brewing on a Homebrew scale. Through this, I have given samples out to various people for genuine honest feedback. The results were very positive! You don't have to take my word for it though, here are some independent reviews:
'The Retro Brew Co are undoubtedly a brewery ahead of the curve, finding a means of taking tried and tested brewing methods and beers and adding something weird, wonderful or both. I can, hand on heart, say that i've not had a bad beer from this brewery. Every brew made is another rung on the ladder that betters the previous output, and I honestly haven't a clue how that's possible. A definite one to watch, and a must taste for anything produced'. - Chris Straughan, experienced barman & cellar keeper.
'So far I have had the opportunity to sample 4 beers from The Retro Brew Co. I have been impressed with the flavour and depth of all the brews and have noticed a progressive improvement with every brew. When Craig starts with his commercial brewing, we will definitely be stocking his beers in The Hopwater Cellar'. - Andy Horton, The Hopwater Cellar: local ale & craft ale establishment.
This has given me the push & hunger to start a Micro Brewery of my own. From the invaluable feedback received, I am confident that I have a popular 'core' range, with seasonal & special editions ales. However to get this off the ground, I need bigger equipment, and a premises. This is where I need your help!
Brewing equipment, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration will be required in order to mass produce & control the fermentation temperatures of these great ales. I intend to start with 3 core recipes to gain experience on the new kit, before expanding the beer range.
So why the name? Retro - retro definition
imitative of a style or fashion from the recent past.
We've had some great styles in the past and present day. From IPA's, Stouts, Porters & more! Now with the availibility of worldwide hops & other ingredients, we can produce both classic styles & modern twists.
With your help, combined with a business loan of my own, I am looking to gain the capital required to produce professional beer in the local area using the equipment previously mentioned, along with bottling or canning equipment required to get it on the shelves of the great establishments in the area.
As well as the commercial brewery, I am looking to install a 'homebrew' area. One section of the brewery will house a homebrew scale equipment set. Whether money or space is your issue, home brewers can come and brew their favorite recipes, then take their finished wort home ready for fermentation. This will give home brewers more knowledge & experience, along with expanding their beer base :)
So let's get some great local beers on the shelves! Donate today!
