Hello, I'm Adam.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
there but for the grace of God (go I) is an original piece of theatre that I am currently writing. I have been lucky enough to be invited to present it at as a work-in-progress at Sprint Festival at Camden Peoples Theatre in March 2017.
I want to make a piece of techo-paranoia that inverts the classic mistaken identity story and explores what identity means today, namely the ways in which new technology is shaping who we are.
In these highly mediatized times, we're never quite sure what's really happening. I want to exploit the very liveness of the theatrical medium in order to reflect this uncertainty in the audiences experience, forcing them to rethink their relationship with themselves and the world around them.
I am trying to raise some money to go towards the cost of hiring a rehearsal space, the purchase of equiptment needed to run the show, and to have the performance filmed for future development and pitching purposes.
This project is important to me because it marks the first time that I will have written and performed in my own work! I am a bit nervous but I've got a great creative team lined up to support me.
If you like the sound of the project and what I'm hoping to achieve, I would be so grateful if you could contrabute anything at all, however small the amount. Even £1! If you want to I will keep you in the loop at every stage of the development process, similarly, you might not want to be in the loop, which is also good. Either way, thanks again for reading this and I hope to hear from you soon!
Warmest wishes,
Adam
