The Yorkshire International Football Team

Establishing and promoting a YORKSHIRE FOOTBALL TEAM for entry into international competition.

We did it!

On 20th Dec 2017 we successfully raised £3,816 with 39 supporters in 56 days

The Yorkshire International Football Association (YIFA) has been formed to establish and promote a Yorkshire international team. This team will play in international friendlies, bespoke competitions and, hopefully, the CONIFA Euros and World Football Cup.

Currently, YIFA has international opponents lined up to play in friendly competition, a number of venues available to us, an international kit in production, a solid management team in place and open lines of communication  with CONIFA. We also have a constitution in place which guarantees fair play, equality and community development.

YIFA is about so much more than football alone. In line with CONIFA objectives, a Yorkshire football team would be an ambassador for the region, highlighting its unique heritage whilst learning from the cultures of the nations it plays: often the unrepresented and dispossessed.

Much as the Tour de France Grand Depart, and the Tour de Yorkshire, we want YIFA and the Yorkshire international football team to raise the profile of the region, creating opportunities for wealth sharing, cultural recognition and further empowerment of the Yorkshire brand.

To really accelerate the project to where we want it to be,  we need funding for such necessities as marketing, kit production, scouting expenses, travel and facility hire. Every pound pledged can go at least some way to getting the YIFA show on the road. Hope to see you there!
