'Emma' was made redundant after 10 years employment in the Pet industry. 'Emma' is registered disabled and found finding new employment difficult mixing her skills, her experience and passion for Dogs, with her long term expertise in the industry.
'Emma' was encouraged to start her own business as she saw a gap in the ethical and nutritious dog food industry. Emma needs £5000 to create her business following self funding her initial start up which has started to show a small profit.
'Emma' isn't alone, only 1 in 4 UK businesses are started by women, usually because access to finance is that much harder for females in the UK. The Frederick's Foundation has created a Women's Loan Fund to help people like 'Emma' and we are seeing unprecedented levels of applications to our fund.
The Unicorn Challenge was created to initially fund 'Emma' and then we hope to grow it to help others like her.
Do send us your video's of you doing the Unicorn Challenge and make sure you spread the word.
To take part in the Unicorn Challenge - very simply, you buy an ice cream in a cone, set your selfie smart phone video running, announce who you would like to nominate to take part next, make a donation to Fredericks Foundation, place the ice cream on your forehead and share with your social networks.
