Hi there! We are Julia Harris and Sarah Valentin. We are sisters and founders of The Sustainable Studio. We are mothers, musicians and fashion designers from Cardiff, the capitol city of Wales. This time last year we embarked on a journey to transform a former munitions factory and open a coworking creative space out of a passion to bring people in the community together to share skills, inspire, learn and create together. With help from our family, friends and the community we did it. Check out our website to see what we have achieved so far!
With the rise and demand of coworking spaces in our city, we soon realised that the arts and makers community was lacking inspirational and inclusive space to work. Phase 2 of our vision is to transform the existing top floor in to a community events space for dance, theatre, music, workshops and exhibitions.
To do this, we need your help. We need to raise £10,000 to make the exit routes and building safe, fit a new fire alarm system, new electrics and plumb toilets.
Cardiff is a cultural city, small enough to make strong relationships and big enough to make a difference for the next generation of creative makers and thinkers!
We want to thank you in advance for believing in the project and all those that have been involved so far. Because of your support we will be able to create a usable events space for artists and creative businesses and engage the local community in the arts!
