As winter approaches, we are reminded of those less fortunate than ourselves. The number of roug sleepers on our streets has rocketed in recent years, precipitating what has been called a national crisis. According to official statistics, there were 65 rough sleepers in Liverpool in January 2018. We know that figure is a conservative estimate and in no way reflects the true figure. Also, as the winter moths drag on, the numb ra can and will multiply..
This Christmas, Michael Goodwin from the Spider Project is appealing to raise funds to purchase as many blizzard blankets for the homeless as he possibly can. Each blanket is specifically designed for outdoor use and as well as being extremely warm, are also waterproof and durable, providing much needed relief from the winter months for those living outside in all weathers. They can cost as much as £20 each. However, the more money collected, the greater discounts we can receive.
Please give generously to this appeal, every penny is vital, your donation is never too small and every contribution, no matter what, will go to help alleviate the difficulties our homeless and rough sleepers experience in these dark, cold and difficult moths. Thank your support is most graciously received.
