If you're going to make cocktails, I say make them properly. It gives me a very heavy heart to pay quite a lot of money for a cocktail and not have it served properly (wrong type glass, cheap products, no salty rim, or worse TABLE SALT!)
My name is Victoria and I LOVE cocktails. Some time ago I spent a few years in New York, USA and during my time there I took a Mixology course. My love for cocktails grew from that moment on and now it gives me great pleasure to invite over friends and family treating them to some fabulous cocktails.
Margaritas are my personal favourite but adding the salty rim was a messy process - sick of finding a plate then adding sea salt to rim my glassware, then throwing the salt away once done -utter madness, there had to be an easier way. I saw a market to provide nicely packaged, accessible and re-useable (recyclable of course) premium flavoured sea salt and coloured sugars for people to have delivered to their homes.
Staying in IS the new going out. I want to bring an extraordinary cocktail experience into people's homes. The Salty Rim Co. wants to deliver world class cocktails, every single serve. You mix the drinks, The Salty Rim Co. will deliver the theatre. We want to teach, via our website, how to make the perfect cocktail using premium products and we want to provide the salty or sweet products to adorn your cocktail rims.
Our small family team consists of me and husband David. My sister, Faye, will be our in-house artist and will provide the artwork for our range of products and merchandise. My other sister, Rachel, has a business degree and will provide guidance. I'm truly passionate about bringing these products (and others already in the pipeline) to the market.
This crowdfunding project will enable us to get off the ground with production costs, marketing and to initially launch four products. We are a small family start-up and looking for support to enable us to grow this UK business and expand our range.
The UK cocktail market is currently valued at £587m. Our target consumers are aged 18 - 54. Consumers under the age of 35 account for a significant 29.9% of industry demand. Consumers aged 35 to 54 represent a very substantial 39.4%. In the UK these two consumer segments add up to just over 30.5m people. Our aim, by year 5, is to sell to 0.5% of our target groups.
Cocktails are little pieces of art; it's one of the reasons why we love them. Finest ingredients, carefully blended and beautifully presented. Move over da Vinci, Picasso, Turner; cocktail minx incoming.... Hello Salty Rim.
