We are raising money to support causes we believe in; Women's Aid and The Black LGBTQIA+ Therapy Fund.

Inspired by indie brand ROOP's Black Lives Matter Lucky Dip, we The Pop Up Girls are using our new found platform to raise money for two causes we truly believe in.

Women's Aid and The Black LGBTQIA+ Therapy Fund

Our brand celebrates and aims to elevate the profiles of female-led brands,  and as women ourselves, we want to ensure that we are supporting our fellow women.

According to Women's Aid:

"Survivors contacting Women’s Aid’s direct services have reported escalating abuse and having to live in lockdown with an abuser due to Covid-19. Women in lockdown with their abuser will be less able to get breathing space. It will be harder to text or phone to get support from friends and family, and from specialist support services.

An initial survivor survey carried out by Women’s Aid in April 2020 [1], confirmed that Covid-19 had impacted on the experiences of women experiencing domestic abuse.

  • 67.4% of survivors who are currently experiencing abuse told us that it had got worse since Covid-19.
  • 76.1% told us they are having to spend more time with their abuser."

Our second cause, The Black LGBTQIA+ Therapy Fund is an important fundraising initiative;

"At present, we are in the middle of a worldwide pandemic, Black people are fighting for the right to live and Black LGBTQIA+ people are having to explain that we exist and that the two co exist as part of our identities. Amongst a number of other things, Black LGBTQIA+ people been isolated from their families, made homeless and have not been able to exist in their true identities in front of family. This is taking a huge toll on the mental health of a number of us."

With all of the recent events going on in the world, including the recent devastating death of George Floyd which sparked international protests, and with it being Pride Month we have Black and LGBTQIA+ communities front of mind. We want to do whatever we can to help and will use our month long Pop Up Shop to raise awareness and sell 'tickets' to our raffle.

100% of donations will be split between the two organisations: Women's Aid and The Black LGBTQIA+ Therapy Fund.

We have some of our amazing brands who are stocked in the pop up taking part and donating prizes. For as little as £2 you can buy a 'ticket' and be entered in to a prize draw to win 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes!
