Phil Silvers' Legacy

The only Museum in the world dedicated to American comedian Phil Silvers is about to get bigger and better! Visitor numbers have grown at a phenomenal rate since our launch on 1 November, 2015 and we need to enlist your support to bring Phil's legacy to a bigger audience!

Phil, a self confessed Anglophile has always been revered and admired by the British public. Bilko was a perennial favourite on the BBC for a staggering 47 years and is still being enjoyed today by a new generation of fans.

Phil Silvers timeline:

1981: Steve & Mick discover Bilko on the BBC.

1983: Make contact with Phil and his family.

1984: Launch The British Phil Silvers Appreciation Society.

1985: Phil gives his blessing for the Society on the BBC.

1989: The Society raises nearly £500 for the BBC's Comic Relief charity.

1992: Various guest appearances on TV and Radio.

1999: Successfully campaign to secure Phil a posthumous Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

2005: CBS invite us to work on the 50th Anniversary DVD.

2014: Work extensively on the UK boxset and present Bilko at the BFI with Cathy Silvers.

2015: Launch Sgt Bilko's Vintage Emporium and The Phil Silvers Archival Museum in FarGo Village.

To free up some much needed space we'll need to make some internal alterations, construct a new dividing wall and purchase light sensitive window blinds and cabinets to safely display the animation art and cels. We are also planning an extensive image gallery and a bigger large screen monitor to screen Phil's work.

The Museum has been self funded since its inception but in order to expand we need to enlist your financial support. All money raised will be spent on bringing you a bigger, brighter and better Museum!

If you love and admire Phil Silvers as much as we do please support our very worthy cause. Over his lifetime Phil bought joy and happiness to millions of people. Let's return the favour by supporting the only Museum in the world that continues to celebrate his life and legacy. Every single penny will count in bringing you a bigger, better Museum. In these uncertain times we all need to escape to happier times. This tiny celebration to all things Phil, tucked away in FarGo Village brings guaranteed smiles to everyone who visits!
