Hi there! My name is Edward Evans and I am a student filmmaker at Staffordshire University in my final year. Throughout my years at university I have been blessed to find myself surrounded by passionate, creative people who have volunteered their own time to allow my visions to become reality. Their goodwill has allowed me to bring to life my ideas in a way that simply would not be possible alone. But this goodwill can only take me so far. Filmmaking is an expensive venture, and I will need to cover expenses, provide accommodation, travel and meals for all those involved with the project.
This year I aim to make a film that tackles mature themes, and create a piece that is powerful and relatable to those who see it. I will explore grief and loss, following a small family through one of the most difficult times in their lives. When a loving wife and mother is diagnosed with a terminal illness, she uses the time she has left to foster a closer relationship between her son and his distant father, in an attempt to prepare them for her death. We follow father and son as they navigate a world of loss, trying to relate to one another in a way they had never been prepared for.
I want to do this film justice, creating a powerful narrative and bringing it to life on the big screen. I have a strong crew behind me, excited to be a part of my vision, but I cannot do them justice alone, and so I am turning to you for help. Any money that I raise will be put directly into the project, to hire actors who are capable of doing these complex roles justice, to source locations and to provide for my cast and crew. Even a small donation will help immensely. Together, we can create a film with beauty and depth, bringing this heart wrenching narrative to life.
